What information does a credit report contain?

A credit report includes your credit score, personal details, loan-specific information, and loan inquiry data. Your credit report contains the following information:

  • Personal Information: It includes your name, address, Social Security number, and date of birth.
  • Credit Account Information: It includes the types of accounts (a credit card, home loan, student loan, or auto loan, etc.), the loan opening amount, your credit limit, account balances, and your payment history.
  • Inquiry Information: It includes two types of inquiries: "soft" and "hard."
  • Bankruptcies: It contains information about bankruptcy public records and related details
  • Collections Accounts: It includes past-due accounts that have been transferred to a collection agency.

NOTE: Your Credit Report excludes information on insurance providers, stocks, and bank accounts.
